Task Force

The U.S. Department of Transportation has established a National Safe Routes to School Task Force. The group includes leaders in health, transportation, and education as well as representatives from state government, local agencies and non-profit organizations. The Task Force will study and develop a strategy for advancing Safe Routes to School programs nationwide and will be responsible for submitting to the U.S. DOT Secretary a report for Congress detailing the results of their work.

The Task Force is subject to the Federal Advisory Committee Act. All Task Force meetings will be open to the public. The Task Force will also accept written comments. Meeting dates will be announced in the Federal Register and posted on this web page.
